Speaking of sequels… I’m watching it right now, and hating it for the same reason i hated it when i saw in the theater. Paul Greengrass is an idiot who apparently has never heard of a tripod. There are literally shots of shaky nothing, which i guess he thinks equals “action.” Also suffers from “M:I-2 Syndrome”—rehashing the same scenes and scenarios from the original. Such a waste of a cool premise. Doug Liman did Identity so well. Incidentally, the trailer for his Mr. and Mrs. Smith looked quite entertaining last night before Ocean’s Twelve—and it looks like it has a car chase and shootout with a minivan. I’m there.
