VW Dumbing Down For America
October 18th, 2007 | Published in automotive
Apparently, American’s don’t want to pay for the high-tech gizmos that often come with Dubs, so they’re getting cut by the CEO who wants to lower prices so Volkswagen can compete with Toyota [via Autoblog and Volksbloggin.com].
Boo. I love my auto-dimming rear view mirror, and heated side mirrors, and Climatronic, heated seats, auto-down and auto-up windows (and sunroof) with pinch protection, and steering wheel-mounted stereo and cruise controls, and MFA trip computer, and airbags all around, and probably plenty more. It all just makes being in my car that much more comfortable and easy. Their cost is an investment in driving sanity.
I bet the same people that don’t want to spend a little extra on “features” like these are the same ones who spend hours a day in their car commuting. Going insane.
