Yeah, so i’m flipping through the channels and happen to catch the end of Eminem lip-synching some song i didn’t recognize on SNL. Apparently it’s a rerun because afterwards he holds up something that says “VOTE”. A quick google reveals that it was from the October 30th show—the weekend immediately following Ashlee Simpson’s go at it. Once again, most stories seem to be caught up in the “woops—Eminem got caught” and “they all do it.” The real question is whether he truly was lip-synching, or whether it was a subtle rip on Ms. Simpson’s experience from the previous week. He’s notorious for beefing and clowning, but that’s the thing—it always blatantly overt. Subtlety is not his style. He’s also the type to not give a f——. Ashlee already made fun of herself that week at the Radio Music Awards. Watching the video, it seems that it’s legit with no hints of tomfoolery. Neither really lip-synching or a prank. Just taking a breath at the end of the chorus before the next verse.
