I would like to let your users know that I have entered the “64 Seconds” contest.

If you like it I would ask that you vote for my short film and tell all of your fans to vote for it. I would appreciate that. I think that it speaks for itself.

The films name is “Feel the Waitlessness” and it’s a 3D animated short.

    Thanks!

A couple of my friends have submitted movies prior to the deadline but for some reason they have not been posted, they tell me it still reads ‘in production’ It is kinda strange that they have not been posted as no other new movies are, so it doesnt seem there is a long queue.

Hey, just checked out the contest. A lot of crappy films and a few good ones. I really liked the girl with the hairspray, I think it was called Bottom Shelf or something. Look for the thumbnail with the girl with crazy hair. it was obviously not done in a few hours like most of the rest of the films. I also liked “inverse universe”. pretty clever.

I hadn’t even been to that site since i posted this. I just tried to watch a few, and my computer can’t even keep up with the videos. So i only see about 32 seconds of stuttery Flash video. Wasn’t very impressed with the few that i sampled. Some decent effects in some, but no good stories. And that’s what shorts are all about. Extra pooh-poohs for the several AMD brownnosers i saw.

Maybe i should have entered so i could win a new computer so i could watch Flash videos at full frame rate.

I’ve entered the 64 Second contest “Waiting for nothing” (the title of my film) and it is effect free. It’s my first attempt at filming a short. If you’ve got time go see it and vote if you like it. I think the story issue is important on short films.
    I welcome criticism……..
Also, Forward this to friends if you like it. Thanks in advance!!

    Dear Miahz:

I’m responding to this thread because you “hit the nail on it’s head” when you wrote “No good stories” were being made.
I spent a week in advertising in a highly prized job, the first woman they
hired, before I realized I would not be able to tell stories and quit, that was long before the Folgers coffee commercials.

It’s about story, story, story. You may not like my story but at least I
attempted to tell one in a 64 second interval. Many people seem to
believe they had to make a commercial and not a story.

    My entry:
PinHead at Zero-G, the poster is a Flaming Sword

I only want to be winner number 28, I need the gear, badly!

But to continue, I found out about this contest because I was at
AMD to find out how to overclock an old chip. I was a member of the
Edge forum…which I found out that day was defunct. AMD has a new
    amdplanet64 forum….

All this to agree, if you have low bandwidth and do not have a
very fast computer you can’t even see these shorts. Since most of my
friends and family are poor, I expect low voter turnout.

Lastly, the “brownnosers” as you call them do have some good
shorts but it really limits the creativity of the reply to believe you have
to see faster computing as a total benefit.

I’m also a digital rights activits and I see faster computing as a
double edged sword, the “enemy” can also work faster. Isn’t this kinda
like “star wars” in the military sense and not the movie sense, like the
nuclear race? A competition that is endless and often meaningless?

Anyways, I didn’t brownnose…and I really need the gear because
I’m very serious about this film thing and in case you don’t do it, rendering
is a very slow process, even if it is just wire removal.

    Thanks for your insight!

The situation with both of my friends is that they didnt find out about the contest until one week before it ended. They both had to adjust their stories various times due to lack of time.

Interesting how they didnt pull those movies that were using commercial music. Those should have been pulled right from the start.
