miahz.com 2005 Traffic

Except for a spike of over 17,500 in August, miahz.com has seen steady growth over the year, going from barely a thousand page views for the month of January to over 10,000/month in the last three months of the year. I was thoroughly suprised when i saw that. Maybe it’s all search bots or something—hard to believe anyone actually reads this. The unique visits graph shows the same increase over the course of the year, but the numbers are a little more honest at about half of the monthly page views.

I was definitely more public about the site in this, it’s second year—leaving the URL in comments, pinging and trackbacking when publishing, etc. I also was writing with more frequency, for a time. I’m sure that the steady increase is largely due to the major search engines grabbing hold of the content as well.

My Atom feed was the third most popular page. Not really sure what that means. Also looks like over 1000 poor saps downloaded my out-of-date Firefox theme LCD. I’m sure there would be a marked increase in traffic if i would finally move the LCD content to a subpage and make miahz.com my blog home page instead of the undiscoverable miahz.com/index.php.

Looks like most of the traffic comes from search engines—various flavors of Google primarily. The 1&1 WebStatistics doesn’t show what search terms were used. And LCD gets a lot of love from a few Japanese sites.

Interesting stuff. Maybe 2006 will bring even more interesting trends. Or maybe i’ll be too busy keep up with it all. Who knows?
