PowerShot Jump

So i’ve had my SD400 almost a year—since last Christmas. And i just stumbled on the Jump feature.

While reviewing images in Playback mode, you can press up on the d-pad to enter Jump mode. It lets you skip through your images by 10 or 100 images, or by the date they were shot, or you can jump to movies. The date jump is really handy, cuz there’ll often be days i’ll blast hundreds of shots of something in continuous mode, and it sucks to have to flip through all those pictures that all look the same.

Against my usual practice, i never opened the manual for the camera. I’m kinda glad i didn’t because every once in a while i’ll stumble on something new like this, and it’s like Christmas all over again. Besides, the camera is so intuitive i didn’t really need to. The controls are obvious and simple to use, but on the other hand there’s many deeper features like this. No wonder it’s the most popular point-and-shoot on Flickr.
