The lamer of the two magic flicks. The other being The Prestige which i saw in the theater. It’s weird how some movies come out in pairs, which ultimately demands a comparison. Deep Impact and Armageddon comes to mind. (Though those were both bad movies, but for different reasons.)

This is a pretty long movie. Started it Sunday night and had to call it because it got too late. Then finished the last half hour Thursday. I last saw this a while back when it was new, but didn’t remember it being so long.
I still think it’s a good flick. [...]
Kinda funny how these kind of movies have these conflict moments with a birthday or some other date. And then the hero ends up being really late or missing it altogether, causing all kinds of drama. But i can’t remember the last time i celebrated an event like that on the actual date. [...]

A lot more language than i remembered. Pretty good heist flick though.
Apparently, Kevin Costner is a mermaid. The film runs a little long, but entertaining enough. Nice to see some of the old scenery from Kodiak.
